Answers to your common journaling questions :) I'll continue to update this as needed.
Q: I'm nervous to write down my thoughts in my journal. What if someone reads it? What should I do?
A: I'm a big believer in getting all that's in your head - out! In my experience, that's how you'll experience the most benefits of journaling. Do what you need to do in order to achieve this - is it writing in your journal and then immediately tearing out and discarding the page? If you're using a digital version, is it typing it all out and then deleting?
Wellness doesn't have to be pricey! In fact, so much of wellness encompasses the habits and routines we build around mind, body and spirit - like meditation, exercise/movement, journaling, and what we put into our bodies. Here are three trends (for lack of a better word) that have been making waves in the wellness world that I'm loving, and have been embracing for years now!
Happy New Year! I'll go ahead and say it - I love the start of a new year and the renewed energy that (usually) comes with it. While I believe that a "fresh start" can happen at anytime (you don't need to wait for a new year, a new week, etc), I do feel that there's a different energy to a new year that I love to use to my advantage for brainstorming, visioning, and intention setting. So here, I'm sharing my intentions for 2022.
Wow, it’s been a minute! 😬 And in that minute we welcomed Isabella Miriana to our family in July 💛 Needless to say, my mind has been elsewhere as I navigate all that comes with the newborn/baby stage again!
I had a difficult postpartum experience (PPD) with Luca so I was really anticipating a similar experience. I'm happy to say this time around has been SO much better than expected! I set myself up with a support system and a better postnatal plan than I did with Luca and I think it made all the difference.
I am all about living the high vibrational life (though it's not always easy!) and love elevating my mood through acts of self-care and self-love. In general, I think showing yourself any act of self-care and self-love helps raise your vibes, but using wellness and beauty products you love takes it even further - especially if those products are infused with crystals! Below, I round up my favorite crystal-infused wellness products and share how I use/incorporate them into my daily routine.
This month's Meet the Maker features Mo Seetubtim, the founder of one of my favorite journal brands, The Happiness Planner. Mo's mission is to help people becomehappier, more whole, and ultimately, more fulfilled. Her journals help people become aware of who they are, what shaped them to the way they are, and what they can do to heal, remove limiting beliefs, and help change patterns.
This yellow-orange-ish spice is full of amazing benefits! I've heard a lot about turmeric's anti-inflammatory benefits but when I discovered it as an ingredient popping up in some of my skincare products, it made me wonder what other benefits it offers. As it turns out - a lot! Here are a few of the benefits that resonated most with me, as well as three ways to add more of this spice into your life to fully reap its benefits!
This month's Meet the Maker features friends Jami and Danielle, the founders of the high vibrational living brand, Positive Times. Positive Times is inspired by the connection of mind, body & earth and the confidence that manifests from it. Everything they make incorporates materials and messages meant to evoke strength, positivity, and healing. Each piece is handcrafted and assembled mindfully with these core values in mind.
I first learned of the benefits of cold therapy when visiting a friend in Finland, where they partake in ice baths year round via the freezing cold Baltic Sea! It's now been popularized in the US through various channels but I believe mainly in part due to a Dutch man named Wim Hof. Benefits of cold therapy include increases metabolism, reduced inflammation and sore muscles, and increased energy.
This month's Meet the Maker features sisters Naana, Abena, and Akua from the brand Karite. Karite is a skincare company based out of New Jersey that makes the most luxurious raw shea butter moisturizers. They use all natural ingredients sustainably and ethically sourced from Ghana (where the sisters are from!) and the US.
