A Running List of Books I'm Reading in 2021
A running list of books I'm reading or have read so far this year. Because I used to be good about recording this information on Goodreads but no longer do... so picking it up here (hopefully)! I read most nights before bed and usually have a couple of books in rotation. Some books are more slow going than others and some books I read cover to cover in a few days. I like to read a variety of books each year; from self-improvement/discovery (no surprise there!) to autobiographies and historical fiction (my favorite historical fiction period is WWII) to classic beach reads.
I plan to use this blog post to record my notes on books I'm reading or finish, and update monthly (assuming there's something to update, ha)!
A Promised Land by Barack Obama - I loved Michelle Obama's book about her time as First Lady so I knew I wanted to read Barack's book as well, to gain his insight on how he viewed his presidency. I started this in January so it's a slower read for me but one I'm enjoying. I particularly like when he talks about family life in the White House or shares stories of his camaraderie with colleagues/staff (rather than the detailed policy views, etc.)
Atomic Habits: An Easy and Proven Way to Build Good Habits & Break Bad Ones by James Clear
Human Design: Discover the Person You Were Born to Be by Chetan Parkyn - this is more of a resource book on Human Design (something I've recently learned about and am interested in) than a read cover to cover book.
Good Vibes, Good Life: How Self-Love is the Key to Unlocking Your Greatness by Vex King - I liked this book. I practice a lot of what was written in the book already, but I gained some new insights.
If you have any book recommendations you think I'd love please let me know below or reach out at firstname.lastname@example.org.
